These animals have a commitment date, meaning they are in critical need of placement due to severe
medical or behavioral challenges. Without intervention, they are at risk of humane euthanasia. While
there are times when an animal improves due to our interventions and the commitment date can be
removed or extended, a commitment date often ends in the animal being humanely euthanized if they
are not removed from the shelter environment.

making much progress here at the shelter. She is constantly trembling and avoiding. Kira is now
starting to become a little bit more curious with staff. Although she is scared she will reach out when
cat nip and treats are offered. She will avoid when staff attempts to handle but within a few minutes
and lots of treats she starts to warm up and allow all handling with out avoiding. She is hesitant to
trust but with time and patience we believe she can open up. This animal would benefit from a quieter
place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
