She is easy to dress in a lightweight shirt, which helps her stay warm overnight and on chilly
mornings. While she is not highly toy motivated, she enjoys squeaky toys and relaxes happily with
her Benebone in her kennel or pen.

Don’t let the name fool you — this Pennywise is nothing but pure sweetness and charm. This
estimated 3-year-old, 50-lb boy might just have one of the most adorable faces you’ll ever see.
Seriously… it’s the kind of face that makes people stop and say, “Oh my gosh!”
One of Pennywise’s most endearing features is his little overbite. When he takes treats from your
hand, you’ll mostly just feel his big soft jowls and floppy mouth flaps happily engulfing your hand as
he tries to collect the snack. It’s goofy, it’s adorable, and it somehow makes him even more
lovable.
And speaking of treats — Pennywise is a big fan. He doesn’t seem to know many commands just
yet, but with how much he enjoys snacks, he’ll likely be a very fun and motivated student when it
comes to training.
During our time in the play yard, Pennywise started figuring out the game of fetch. At first he wasn’t
totally sure what the rules were, but before long he was happily chasing after toys I tossed for him.
Bringing them back is still a work in progress — sometimes he returns them, sometimes he
doesn’t realize I wanted him to bring it back— but by the end he was having a blast running after
toy after toy. He can get a little excited during the game (because, well… toys are fun!). So we’ll
take a little break and reset, before we start playing again!
Overall, Pennywise is a playful, handsome boy with a goofy charm that’s hard not to fall in love
with. Between his adorable face, his silly overbite, and his growing love for playtime, he’s truly a
little nugget of joy just waiting to share his personality with a forever family.

Tina is a gentle 14-year-old, 45-lb lady who recently arrived at the shelter after being surrendered by
her owner. It’s a big change for a senior pup, and the busy shelter environment can make her a
little nervous. At times she may shake or seem unsure of new people and surroundings, but with
patience and a calm presence, her sweet nature begins to shine through. Occasionally, she
allowed gentle pets, but was still a tad apprehensive.
Once outside, Tina seemed to truly enjoy herself. She walks beautifully on leash and prefers slow,
leisurely strolls where she can sniff the world around her. She’s a low-energy girl who appreciates
the simple things—quiet walks, soft blankets, and a peaceful place to rest her head.
According to her previous owner, Tina has lived with children, a small dog, and a cat, and generally
gets along well with everyone she meets. Loud noises can make her nervous, and she may hide or
shake when she’s scared, so she would likely do best in a calm, understanding home where she
can feel safe and secure.
Tina is also hoping for a family who can help her feel comfortable as she receives some medical
care. She arrived with several skin masses, including one larger, ulcerated mass on her neck,
along with dental disease and arthritis. Our veterinary team has done bloodwork (available for
review) and recommends a dental procedure and potentially removal of the skin masses to help
improve her comfort and quality of life.
When I first approached her kennel, Tina was curled up fast asleep, unaware of the busy shelter
around her. It’s hard not to feel for this sweet older girl who deserves the warmth and stability of a
loving home during her golden years. With kindness, patience, and a cozy blanket to call her own,
Tina would love nothing more than a quiet place to finally relax and be someone’s cherished

Max is a big, lovable teddy bear with a heart just as big and fluffy as his body. Estimated to be
around 5 years old and about 80 lbs when he first arrived at the shelter, Max could benefit from
shedding a few pounds—but don’t let that fool you.
Under that sturdy frame is an athletic, playful pup who loves a good game of fetch. He may not
always bring the ball back, but he has the absolute best time chasing it down. He’s delightfully silly
and surprisingly focused, happily sitting on cue while he waits for you to throw. One young
spectator even said Max looks like he’s “really good at sports,” which pretty much sums him up
perfectly.
He was recently in short term foster care, and his foster dad had great things to say about him.
Max goes into his crate on command, sleeps in crate with no issues, and has no separation
anxiety. He's a friendly pup and likes to play and have fun. He's played with other dogs, but he also
knows when it's time to relax, calm down, and rest quietly. His foster dad gave him an "A" for leash
walking when he was fostering him. He’s also housebroken and potty trained!
(Note: Max might pull a bit when you do a meet-and-greet with him at the shelter. Since he waits
until he goes outside to use the bathroom, he may pull with urgency at the start of a walk. But
once he’s had a chance to go potty and burn off some pent-up energy, he settles down nicely and
walks much better.)
Poor Max is getting overlooked at the shelter, and he is waiting day after day for his forever family.
He’s eager, engaged, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s loyal companion. Max is neutered,

started to shine through—he broke into a few happy zoomies and playful spurts of energy, showing

In the play yard, Domino was able to relax a little, though he stayed close to corners and quiet
spots. At one point on our walk, he ran all the way to a tucked-away corner — a little refuge that

Right now, he isn’t very interested in toys, balls, or treats. He’s still in survival mode, trying to figure
out this new chapter. By the end of our time together, he did allow gentle pets — a small but
meaningful step. Building trust with Domino will take time, and he’ll need someone who
understands that connection cannot be rushed.

came to us as a confiscate, but he hasn’t let his past dim his calm, steady spirit.
On leash, Nova is a dream. He walks beautifully, is easy to manage, and seems to genuinely enjoy
getting out for some fresh air. He loves to take his time sniffing around, exploring his surroundings,
and doing a little people-watching. Daily short, manageable walks would suit him perfectly — just
enough to keep him moving and happy without overdoing it.
While Nova does have a few medical notes in his file, he honestly seems pretty good for his age.
His back legs show a typical older-dog gait, but they look pretty normal for his age. With a little
TLC, regular vet care, and a healthy routine, he has plenty of good strolls and cozy days ahead of
him. He could benefit from shedding a few pounds, which would greatly improve his mobility and
make everyday life even more comfortable and enjoyable for him.
Nova has met other dogs through play yard barriers and has shown himself to be non-reactive to

sweetheart with the most stunning ice-blue eyes you’ve ever seen. Set against her fluffy black fur,
they absolutely sparkle. She’s basically a giant, cuddly furball with supermodel eyes.
Mimi came to the shelter as an owner surrender and previously lived outdoors (poor girl!). Despite
that, she is incredibly friendly, playful, and gentle. It’s clear she has so much love to give and is
more than ready to spend her golden years inside a cozy home where she belongs.
Right now, Mimi’s biggest journey is a health one. She’s currently considered obese at 118
pounds, and she needs to lose a significant amount of weight to feel more comfortable and even
breathe easier. She does breathe heavily on walks — carrying extra weight is hard work — but the
good news? She loves her walks. Getting out and about, strolling at her own pace, stopping for
little sniffs along the way — it’s truly her happy place. And when she walks, her big hips and fluffy
rump swish side to side in the cutest way. It’s impossible not to smile watching her.
